I placed an order for 2 pairs of Clarks sandals at the very beginning of June 2014. Advised shoes would take a little longer to ship than usual.....okay, fine. 2 weeks later, I receive an email stating that the shoes will not be shipped until almost the middle of July! Seriously? I am not willing to wait that long, so I log on to my account with Monroe and Main and cancel my order, and I receive email confirmation that my order has been cancelled. Great...end of story, right? Wrong! Fast forward to the very beginning if July, when these freaking shoes appear on my doorstep. I am perplexed, because this order had been cancelled weeks prior. I wantbto send the shoes back, but not at my expense, as this was not my error. I email Monroe and Main customer service, and I am advised that they will send me an email, with a scanable code embedded in it, and all I have to do is take the email to Fedex, who will scan it and print out the authorized prepaid return label. No such luck! I went to 4 different Fedex locations, and none of them could retrieve the label from the email. I am told by Fedex, that they have this issue with this company alot. Great.....lucky me. I contact customer service AGAIN who apologizes and says they will send out return labels to me in the mail. Today is August 2, 2014, and I still have not received the return labels. I have had to make a payment on these shoes, to prevent negative credit reporting. I have sent additional emails advising the I have contacted the home office for Monroe and Main by registered letter, email, and phone. I have advised that if my issue is nit resolved immediately (and intelligently), that I will bring legal action. I AM BEYOND BEING A PISSED OFF CONSUMER!!!!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

Credit hit for second time

Unprofessional company all the way around. I took a 7 pt hit on my credit as their non-disclosure of running your credit every six months when I placed the order never was mentioned. I thought I had an open line as I bought in sept of last year and was told they can run your credit every six months if you do not show 6 mos of payments. Waited on the phone for credit (who was rude and could have cared less) over and hour and 1-1/2, I will never order from this unprofessional, unreachable and unethical company again. I just had the same experience. Ordered once a couple months back paid off my account then just placed an order an received a letter in the mail stating could not give credit....

How can we start a class action suit. We work hard to have something and to have it taken away and charged for it is unacceptable.

Contact an attorney in your area. Try those that regularly advertise on TV, especially those that mention class action suit even if outside your category.

Ask if they know of anyone who might help if they turn you down. Don't give up, keep trying.

I was a month behind in my payments and they charged me a late fee with service fees so that my $25 payment equaled only $8. The terms stipulated on the back of the statement is not how they do business. They said they can apply a late fee even if it is before the due date on your statement. As well all of the sister companies, 7th Ave., Ashro, Ginny's After 5 Midnight Velvet have the same practice. And credit counseling service will not help, they laughed at me. The merch I purchased was substandard and did not hold up. I paid way too much for items if I had taken my time and shopped around I could have saved a lot of money, even some items were available at the dollar store. The perfume was not designer it was a knock off and burnt my skin. They do not consider you a person just a means to the bottom line. They need to be put out of business. I have reported them to the Attorney Generals Office and have done a lot of research on the fair credit act and they violated several laws, they feel they are above the law and it is every day consumers who pay the consequences. Why would I want t keep the dialogue going with your company when on Monday evening I was laughed at by your credit department. I have paid off my bill with you all, and am going to continue to pursue my complaint through the Attorney Generals Office, The Better Business Bureau and if I have to I will file a lawsuit.

I feel as if your company (ies) were vindictive, did not want to cooperate with me, regarding my employment status and wanting to make partial payments, and the late fees that at any time before the due date they could apply them, I asked to have my balance zeroed out so that I could continue making $25 monthly payments but was not given that opportunity. Your company pursued me by telephone every half hour on the hour everyday and even on Sundays until 10pm. And I have all of this documented.

And of course you just want to know about the perfume, well that bottle is being handled, by a third party until I have settled my complaints! Why should I as stated above agree to continue this dialogue, would you if the tables were turned, looks like I am not the only pissed off consumer.

Rip Off!!!

I ordered five shirts from them, one was cancelled before any of the blouses were shipped by the company; which was ok, saved me a couple dollars. When the clothing arrived I was highly disappointed in the quality for the price (cheaply made). I decided it was best to return each item back with their return postage. I had been waiting weeks for the update to my account, still no adjustments; by that time I have a day left to pay the minimum. So, I just pay $20 in order to not be charged any late fees. I'm thinking that should cover the shipping charges, to my surprise about five days later I receive a bill in the mail for $15.68. Wow, I have never experienced anything like this before. Basically, I was charged $35.68 for returning unacceptable merchandise. I called customer service and even spoke to a manager and all I got was this is their rules. I paid the balance and asked to be taken off their mailing list. This company is a joke, I wouldn't purchase anything from them again.

Substandard clothing returned and still got charged.

I ordered a suit for a job interview. It arrived and I opened it with a week of arrival to try it on. It was ridiculously short compared to other clothing store vendors I've bought from before. It was also VERY low quality material. I was very disappointed and sent it back right away. In the process of moving they said they sent a bill for shipping, but I never got it. I called to give them the reasons for my return and was told there was 'nothing [they] could do' regarding the shipping charge and had added late charges and fees on top of that. I ended up paying the *** bags $47.50 for NOTHING. And the customer service guy had a great big attitude for being so rude to a customer. If they ever contact me again, send a catalog, a bill, or (God forbid) call, I will contact an attorney to sue them for harassment. They've been warned and I have an attorney on retainer already. DO NOT BUY FOR THEM. Their quality sucks and their customer service is even worse, believe it or not. I will NEVER deal with them again and caution anyone else to reconsider and buy somewhere else!!!!!

I don't know where to begin.....

I decided to glance at the catalog and I noticed a tunic I thought was pretty cute, so Iordered it. Delivery took quite awhile, but I have no compalints with that. Finally received and it was of poor quality and two sizes too big. Still ok, I just returned it(which of coarse I had to pay for). A few weeks later, I recieved A PURSE(????). I called customer service and he apologized, and sent me a return sticker so I did not have to pay for return postage..or so I thought. Two statement later (or is it three?) the statement finally shows the credit, but it also has a balnce of 23.00(which includes a late payment fee and interest, on what?..postage). I possessed their merchandise for about 1 day(tunic) and about 1 week(the purse) bcuz I was waiting for Customer service to send the so-called "free" returned postage sticker. They already charged me shipping and handling on my initial purchase, and now they want to charge me a late fee because they sent me merchandise I never purchased and it took them months to resolve? I gave Cust Serv a return tracking number and she said it wasn't enough numbers....what was I suppose to do, make one up..this is the number(I still have it)they gave me....I will not pay for this..not even if it is 5.00.

Wow, Im so sorry that you had to go through this, if you don't pay they will just continue to add service fees and interest and they will bend you until you pay. The part that really burns is they can legally get away with what ever they want, or so they think.

I am wondering if enough people would flood the Attorney Generals Office with complaints and each one similar but different maybe they would stand up and take notice and make them amend what they have done to each consumer.

They really suck, and the little people that answer the consumer counseling line should be placed up against a wall and you know, blasted with something, I wonder if they go home feeling good about themselves as if their job actually empowers them to feel good. NOT

NEVER order from this company, I ordered 3 tops and one coat. Returned 2 tops and the coat was not to be shipped until Dec 12, 2012. They have charged me VERY high prices for returning the 2 tops and I am being way over charged. We need to sue these people they are frauds! Very poor qualify and are making their money by sending bogus items and then charging overly high shipping for shipping out and return shipping. Thieves and LIARS. Don't order ANYTHING from these theieves. You will regret it! Have to pay or it will hurt my credit! THIEVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do agree the shipping and processing prices are ridiculous. They really need to lower their shipping and processing and they might get more business. That's why I only order a little at a time because the shipping is ridiculous.

I ordered a suit and a couple of sweaters from them and they sent me a bill BEFORE the items shipped! WHAT??

The sweaters were oddly sized, really close fitting in the body and sleeves that went past my fingers,the suit was a poly double knit that looked like Walmart but triple the price,so I returned them at my own expense. I was billed for the items, for postage and charged a late fee. I called customer dis-service and told them I paid my own return shipping and that I wasn't paying for items I returned the same day I received them. I was told they never received my return.

I gave them the tracking number, the date and time it was delivered and who received it. I got my refund and I've not heard from them since.

STAY AWAY THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES ARE VERY DECEPTIVE!

I received a credit card from Monroe and main, I try to use it and ALWAYS, they say I need to pay have down, I have accounts with 6 of their sister stores and am always treated with respect and my orders are ALWAYS FILLED. I ordered something from them and was not pleased with there 1919 clothing line. They sent me a bill for sending there unsatisfied items back and i have never had this problem with any clothing store before. I will never order anything else from them and i will not recommend anyone to shop with them Every.There customer service was horrible i told them to cancel my acct. and i was told o.k.
