Shocked customer
Balance incorrect and they won't address it
My account summary online says the balance is more than it is. I went to the last statement to see what the balance was then and it was much lower.
So, I checked out the order status to add up what I'd debited to my account this month and then how much I was credited for 1 item I canceled and another one i returned. Well, when I added these debits for this month and subtracted the credit amount I was given and added it onto last month's balance it was much lower than what they had stated as my balance in the Account Summary now on my online acct. I tried e-mailing them about this, but they made the e-mail about something else and not what I really wanted to know, an explanation as to what was going on. All they had to do was check the order status, add up the debits, subtract the credit and this would give them the amount of charges I had so far and add it to the balance from last month.
Actually, a very simple thing to do. Just how can your balance from last month with the purchases this month added together be much less than what their balance says in the Account Summary Balance now? Even considering interest, it certainly wouldn't be the ridiculous amount they have to-date. Impossible!!
So, I'm going to contact the Attorney General's office of Consumer Affairs, give them my paperwork and let them handle it. Also, I will contact the BBB and FTC.

Received wrong order
Beware - return policy not on website
I received a catalog and picked out about 6 tops to purchase. I then noticed they don't have a return policy on their website.
So I emailed them and asked them for it. They replied with return instructions. I asked again (this time stating I wanted specific on their policy). This was their response "Any item may be returned for a refund, credit or exchange within 60 days (minus shipping and processing charges).
In addition, if you choose to use the prepaid shipping label the $7.95 or $8.95 will be charged to your account. We do not have a restocking fee." Uh, hello - the processing charge IS a restocking fee. SO, if you use their pre-printed label you pay $8-9 just for the label. I believe it's intentionally misleading customers into thinking the charge is for shipping.
Why else have 2 prices for a label? There is a shirt I really like that is $70. If I buy it I'll pay $16 to have it shipped to me. Then if I return it I'll pay another $8 for the label (that cost them about 3 cents) + I'm assuming the same $16 shipping/processing charge.
So it would cost me a potential $40 to try a shirt on that I may or may not like. It's a shame that this company uses these tactics. Their style reminds me of Coldwater Creek, as do their prices. But CC has an actual return policy posted on their website & I've never had an issue with them.
Plus they have some great sales sometimes. I'll stick with CC and throw any future MM catalogs in the recycle bin.
Monroe and Main, Seventh Ave. and Country Door ripoffs
I have accounts at all 3 of the above stores. I have absolutely no complaints on the merchandise; I loved it.
HOWEVER, it turns out that they gave all of my cards 2 account numbers, for who knows what reason. This is where the fun begins. In summary: none of the stores send itemized bills. You have to request them.
None of the stores sent me statements after March 2017 (It is now June 2017). Why is that? On one account, I added up what I purchased from them, and the amount came to approximately $196. Yet, my bill says I owe $384.80!
On another account, I pulled it up under one of the account numbers, and it said I owed nothing. But, when I pulled it up under the other account number, I owed over $500! That was way over my credit limit...something I would NEVER do! When I told HER I wanted an itemized statement, she hung up on me!
I will be reporting these companies and I will not be paying anything until I get itemized bills from these 3 stores. Watch your bills!!!

Thank you to all the folks who took the time (which they shouldn't have had to do!) to expose this company. You have saved e a lot of headaches, heart aches, and lost time as I was considering ordering from their nice looking catalog I just received.
But now that you have made me aware of these ripoff, I won't be ordering a *** thing from them, and will also consider not ordering ever again from their affiliates (Wards - I'm looking at you - I thought your shipping charges were outrageous, with Seventh Ave not far behind).
I will be WARNING others of these ripoffs of hard working folks, and those who can least afford it. Shameful!

Data privacy breach and inaccurate billing
I contacted monroe and main to express to them that i had moved and my place had been broken into before i moved and my information was stolen and used , Monroe and main said they would clear up and problems and i noticed there were a charge for an order billed to my accoubt that u didnt authorize and monroe and main and i received a collections letter in the mail from account control systems, inc. DBA ACS 148 and it stated that my account is past due in collections and i may no longer have a active business relationship with monroe and main and please pay balance due thats in collections

Being Charged for returning some items
I recently had ordered three pieces of women's clothing and I ended up having to return two of the item's. So I go online to see about returning options and it says print label for free or ask for a mailed label and be charged, and no where did it ever say nor did I see any small fine print stating that if i return an item that I am going to be charged 50$ for shipping and handling fees!
See I had already paid 50$ which was for that one blouse that I kept. So I called and spoke to someone in customer service and she said that I needed to speak to someone in a different department and I was transferred to the payment center and she said she could not help me that I needed to speak to someone in customer service and so, I already knew what type of game they were going to start playing so I just hung up.
I will never do service there again ever! Thanks, for giving me the runaround jerks!

Monroe And Main - Shipping Service Review
This company has good clothing I love it and the credit system but, they really have to work out the return policies and shipping methods! Once I returned a really cute winter coat for a different size because it was too big.
They did the exchange but even though you pay almost $20 for shipping they will not do a free return and will not refund it. So basically if you want to do an exchange, you have to pay twice for shipping. Also, for the amount you pay for shipping, it takes extremely long for packages to arrive and also my package got lost!
They did replace it with a new one but, they didn't even give me a disccount or faster shipping for the delay! So yes really nice clothes, but never ordering from this site again.
Delayed Delivery Times and Ridiculous Shipping Charges
I have been ordering from this company for time. At first I was pleased.
Not any longer. My latest order was just under $600. An order that most clothiers would be pleased to get. Monroe and Main however charged me a shipping and processing fee of $66.86.
When I called them they stated that the larger the order the higher the processing fee and that it was based on a percentage. I order from several companies like Chico's, Talbots, Northstyle, Macy's, etc. My experiences with them are quite different. First none of these companies do this.
They in fact will provide free shipping for large orders and sometimes even small orders. Most also provide free returns. I often will opt to pay for express shipping. With Monroe and Main this is worthless because they will take a week or longer at times to even process the order (after they have charged this unheard fee).
I'm through with this company. In addition to the above their quality has gotten very poor yet they charge the same prices as Chico's and Talbots who's quality remains high.
Good-bye to Monroe and Main. I'm sending them a letter today.

I love this store I have been ordering from them for over 10 years I've never had a problem the product I bought has been very good packaging fine returns are fine and my billing statements never had a problem

I have had the EXACT same problem!!!! I wrote to the stores telling them I wanted an itemized bill or I wasn't paying anymore money. They just keep sending me big bills, so I just reported this little scam to the BBIB.I have no intention of paying one thin dime until I see my actual bills!!!
